MARBELLA, Spain ā A 17-hour journey from Friday evening to Saturday afternoon has landed the New England Revolution in Marbella, Spain, where theyāll spend the next two weeks at the renowned Marbella Football Center as they ramp up 2019 preseason preparations.
The Revs wasted little time jumping straight into the action upon their arrival on Spainās southern coast, running through a light fitness session on Saturday to work the flights out their legs before the serious business begins on Sunday with a double session.
In addition to plenty of work on the training ground, the Revs will also play four friendly matches during their time in Marbella, beginning with their preseason opener on Thursday, January 31, against Shanghai Shenhua FC of the Chinese Super League (11 a.m. local time, 5 a.m. ET).
New England will play their second preseason match the following afternoon, Friday, February 1, when theyāll take on Czech side FC Viktoria PlzeÅ (3 p.m. local time, 9 a.m. ET), before rounding out a three-games-in-four-days stretch against Russian power FC Krasnodar on Sunday, February 3 (11 a.m. local time, 5 a.m. ET).
The Revsā final friendly in Spain will be against legendary Ukrainian club and perennial UEFA Champions League competitor FC Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday, February 6 (3 p.m. local time, 9 a.m. ET).
