FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – While most of their New England Revolution teammates are in the midst of the MLS offseason, a trio of Revolution players are currently on international duty.
Wilfried Zahibo made his full international debut on Wednesday, November 13, coming off the bench to help the Central African Republic secure a 2-0 win over Burundi in the opening match of their qualifying group for the Africa Cup of Nations. Zahibo will be in action with the Central African Republic again on Tuesday, November 19, when they’ll continue the qualifying stage against Mauritania (11 a.m. ET).
Another player hoping to make his international debut is Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner, currently in his first-ever camp with the U.S. Men’s National Team ahead of Concacaf Nations League matches against Canada and Cuba. Both matches are must-wins for the Americans, beginning with Friday night’s clash with Canada at Exploria Stadium in Orlando (7 p.m. ET – ESPN2, UniMas, TUDN).
Damian Rivera became the seventh Homegrown signing in club history last week, and this week he’s in his first-ever camp with the U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team for the 2019 Nike International Friendlies in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
