Isaac Angking called in to U.S. Under-17 National Team

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution Academy player Isaac Angking has been called in to the U.S. Under-17 National Team for a four-day domestic training camp in St. Louis, Mo. Angking is one of 20 players that has been called into the four-day camp, which began on Thursday, Oct. 6 and ends on Sunday, Oct. 9.


The U-17 MNT will face the Saint Louis FC U-18 Academy team at 7:30 p.m. CT on Oct. 8 at the World Wide Technology Soccer Park. The STLFC U-18 team will be made up of top players selected from two U.S. Soccer Development Academy member clubs: St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri and St. Louis Scott Gallagher Illinois.


Angking has made 70 appearances in his four seasons with the Academy. The Providence, R.I. native has scored 17 goals and added 16 assists since joining the Academy ahead of the 2013-14 season. Angking is currently part of U.S. Soccer’s 2016 Fall Residency Program in Bradenton, Fla. Previously the fourth-year midfielder, along with current Revolution Academy player, Tyler Freitas, participated in U.S. Soccer’s 2016 Spring Residency Program in Bradenton, Fla.


Angking spent time in Bradenton for a week-long U.S. Under-15 National Team camp in November 2015. In August 2015, the 16-year-old was selected for the Generation adidas ESP event in August, where he played and trained with other elite MLS Academy players as well as an All-Star team from Bayern Munich’s Academy. He was also called in for a U.S. U-15 camp in Bradenton in December 2014 and a U.S. Under-14 National Team camp in Carson, California in August 2014.
