Happy Spring Junior Revs!
The Revs had a great March winning three out of our four matches! We kicked off the month by winning our home opener versus Houston Dynamo FC, 3-0, with goals from Dylan Borrero, Bobby Wood, and Brandon Bye. Our next win was an exciting match-up against Nashville SC, where we saw Gustavo Bou blast a rocket right past the keeper on the near post for a 1-0 win! And finally, we defeated D.C. United, 2-1, with goals from Gustavo Bou and a winner from Noel Buck! This was Buck’s second MLS goal. Jack Panayotou also made his first career start and his MLS debut during the win!
In July we will see the beginning of Leagues Cup where all clubs from the MLS and Liga MX will compete in the annual month-long tournament. The Revs will go on the road to play the New York Red Bulls on July 22 and then host Atletico San Luis on July 26.
Dylan Borrero and Christian Makoun were called up to their national teams during the international break. Borrero was called up to the Columbian National Team, which marks his second senior team call up, and Makoun was called up to the Venezuelan National Team and has earned six senior caps for La Vinotinto.
Following the international break, we will be quite busy with four out of five matches being played at home! We will host NYCFC at the start of the month, followed by CF Montreal, Sporting Kansas City, and then finishing the month against FC Cincinnati. Our one away match this month with be against Columbus Crew.
On July 19th will be the 2023 MLS All-Star Game in Washington DC. In this All-Star Game the best MLS players will be taking on the English Premier League leaders Arsenal FC at Audi Field. There will also be an All-Star Skills Challenge taking place on the 18th before the match. For those of you that can make it, make sure to represent the Revs proudly!
In other exciting news, we will be hosting an in-stadium Easter Egg Hunt on April 8th! Be sure to arrive to the match early and head over to the Junior Revs tent up at the CVS Health Gate to participate. We will be giving away some cool prizes (while supplies last)!
