New England will visit MLS NEXT Pro’s newest independent addition to the league for the first of two meetings between the clubs this season. Last weekend, Revolution II collected a 3-3 draw over New York City FC II and secured an additional point via 4-3 shootout victory. Brazilian forward Marcos Dias continued his stellar 2024 campaign, opening the scoring for Revolution II on midfielder Maciel’s assist. Dias has now found the scoresheet in eight of his 10 appearances this season, with five goals and five assists in 2024.

Following Dias’ equalizing tally in the 23rd minute, New York City FC II netted two goals to take a 3-1 lead. Revolution II battled back with two tallies in the final 10 minutes of the match. New England newcomer Liam Butts netted his first professional goal in the 80th minute to cut the deficit in half. Butts’ tally came just 10 minutes into his professional debut. Revolution Academy midfielder/defender Eric Klein found the equalizer with his first professional goal, heading in a corner kick from Patrick Leal, who assisted on two goals in the match, to secure Revolution II’s second draw of the 2024 season.

In his fourth appearance of the season, goalkeeper Max Weinstein made two stops in the shootout, while Dias, Gevork Diarbian, Alex Monis, and Klein all converted to secure the additional point. New England recorded a season-high 22 shots, 10 of them on target, as seven players registered at least one shot on goal in the match. Dias led the team with six shots, two on target, and enters the weekend tied for third in the league with 12 shots on net this season.

Several Revolution II and Academy products earned international call-ups over the last week. Monis (Philippines), Olger Escobar (Guatemala), Colby Quiñones (Puerto Rico) and Jamie Kabuusu (Grenada) will all be competing with their respective national teams in 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers through mid-June. Chattanooga enters Saturday night’s match following a 2-2 draw and 5-3 shootout win over Atlanta United 2 last weekend. The independent side is currently in second place in the Eastern Conference.
