RECENT FORM VS. LA GALAXY
This will be the 43rd regular-season meeting and 47th overall match between these MLS originals, the New England Revolution and LA Galaxy.
New England and LA last met in July 2018, when the 10-man Revs conceded twice in stoppage time in a heartbreaking 3-2 loss.
However, since then there have been big changes in New England. Bruce Arena - named the Revolution's sporting director and head coach on May 14 - has taken the reins at training in the buildup to this match, coincidentally against his former team. Arena won three MLS Cup titles with the Galaxy, in 2011, 2012, and 2014.
The past seven league games between these two sides dating all the way back to 2012 have featured at least four goals in each match, averaging 5.29 goals per game with 37 total scored within this time frame (19 for the Revolution, 18 for the Galaxy).
Overall Record vs. Galaxy: 16-19-7
Away Record vs. Galaxy: 5-12-4
Last Meeting at Gillette Stadium: Galaxy 3, Revs 2 (July 14, 2018)
Last Meeting at Dignity Health Sports Park: Galaxy 4, Revs 2 (May 8, 2016)
