RECENT FORM VS. ATLANTA UNITED FC
The New England Revolution will square off against Atlanta United FC on Saturday night in Foxborough. This will be just the eighth overall match between these two sides since Atlanta joined MLS as an expansion team in 2017, including seven regular season battles and one MLS Cup Playoffs clash in 2019.
Both the Revs and Atlanta have one win and one draw through their first two games to start the 2021 campaign. Atlanta United is coming off a triumphant 3-1 home win over Chicago Fire FC, with firepower behind the two goal scorers, Ezequiel Barco and Emerson Hyndman. The third goal for Atlanta was a Chicago own goal. Coincidentally the Revs also benefitted from an own goal - forced by Brandon Bye's right-wing cross - in their 1-0 home win over D.C. United last weekend. It may have been scrappy, but the Revs got three points and registered their first clean sheet of the year.
Due to the pandemic, New England and Atlanta have not faced each other since October 2019, when the Revs fell 1-0 at Atlanta in Round 1 of the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. The Revolution have yet to win against Atlanta in their overall history, going 0-5-2 since 2017.
However, New England are looking to change that narrative with their first-ever victory against Atlanta at home this weekend. With two years of head coach Bruce Arena in charge, this team has had more time to develop a cohesive identity, and looks to prove that on Saturday against an Atlanta side that has new leadership under head coach Gabriel Heinze.
Overall Record vs. Atlanta: 0-5-2
Home Record vs. Atlanta: 0-1-2
Last meeting at Gillette Stadium: Atlanta 2, Revs 0 (April 13, 2019)
Last meeting at Mercedes-Benz Stadium: Atlanta 1, Revs 0 (October 19, 2019 in Round 1 of MLS Cup Playoffs)

SHOW YOUR COLORS
On Saturday night the Revs will be sporting "The Original," New England's primary kit designed as a nod to the club's original 1996 look. The sleek white stripe across the jersey echoes the angled stripes across the '96 kit, while the blue top is complemented by red shorts similar to those worn by the Revolution's first-ever squad.
You can own "The Original" by picking one up at the Gillette Stadium ProShop, or by ordering online HERE.
