RECENT FORM VS. NYCFC

This will be the 14th overall meeting between the New England Revolution and New York City FC, since the expansion side joined the league in 2015.

Last season New England and NYCFC met twice, both in the month of September, with the home side taking the win in each clash.

When the two sides squared off at Gillette Stadium, the Revs clinched their first playoff berth since 2015 with a 2-0 shutout win over NYCFC, who were leading the East at the time. Teal Bunbury found the game-winning goal with a clever one-touch finish in the 66th minute, and Gustavo Bou locked up the lead late in the 89th minute, when he chipped New York City FC goalkeeper Sean Johnson to guarantee the Revs’ victory.

NYCFC are coming to Foxborough following a 3-1 win over Chicago at Red Bull Arena (their temporary home), while the Revs are coming off a 1-1 draw against the New York Red Bulls at home. As New England looks to extend their regular-season unbeaten run to eight games (2-0-5) on Wednesday night, this will be a must-see midweek clash.

Overall Record vs. NYCFC: 6-4-3
Home Record vs. NYCFC: 4-1-1

Last Meeting at Gillette Stadium: Revs 2, NYCFC 0 (September 29, 2019)
Last Meeting at Yankee Stadium: NYCFC 2, Revs 1 (September 7, 2019)

SHOW YOUR COLORS

MATCHDAY GUIDE | New England Revolution vs. New York City FC | September 2, 2020 -

On Wednesday night the Revs will be sporting "The Original," New England's primary kit designed as a nod to the club's original 1996 look, as Major League Soccer and the Revs continue their milestone 25th season. The sleek white stripe across the jersey echoes the angled stripes across the '96 kit, while the blue top is complemented by red shorts similar to those worn by the Revolution's first-ever squad.

You can own "The Original" by picking one up at the Gillette Stadium ProShop, or by ordering online HERE.
