RECENT FORM VS. CF MONTRÉAL

New England and Montréal will meet twice in the next month, beginning with Saturday night's return to league play at Stade Saputo. These sides split the season series last year with both teams winning on their home grounds, while Montréal won both encounters in 2022, giving the Canadian side an edge in the recent history. Despite falling on their last two trips to Stade Saputo the Revs still have a respectable record all time at the venue, going 5-7-2 to take points from half of their trips.

The Revs (7-14-2, 23 pts.) rolled into Leagues Cup with a depleted squad, but could be returning several key pieces on Saturday night as they return to league play for the first time in more than a month, while new additions Luca Langoni, Alhassan Yusuf, Tim Parker, and Will Sands should also bolster the squad down the stretch run. There's also momentum building on the field, as the Revs were only eliminated from Leagues Cup in a marathon penalty shootout against NYCFC, and have put together a four-game unbeaten run (1-0-3) in all competitions. They'll enter the weekend five points back of the final playoff spot in the East, but maintain at least two games in hand on every team they're chasing.

Montréal (6-10-9, 27 pts.) also advanced out of their group and into the Round of 32 in Leagues Cup, eliminated with a 2-0 loss to the Philadelphia Union on August 9. That leaves Laurent Courtois' side with just one win in their last five games in all competitions (1-3-1), but they remain just one point back of the playoff places in the East with still nine games remaining. They'll need to lean on their home form during that stretch with five of those final nine games at Stade Saputo, where they've been difficult to beat this season with a record of 4-3-5.

On the road again next weekend, the Revs will travel to visit Real Salt Lake (August 31) before returning home to Gillette Stadium on September 7 for their first-ever meeting with St. Louis CITY SC.

Overall Record vs. CF Montréal: 16-13-3
Away Record vs. CF Montréal: 6-8-2

Last meeting at Gillette Stadium: Revs 4, Montréal 0 (April 8, 2023)
Last meeting at Stade Saputo: Montréal 1, Revs 0 (August 26, 2023)

SHOW YOUR COLORS

Saturday night the Revs will wear their "Defiance" kit, which will serve as the team's community uniform once again for the 2024 MLS season.

The "Defiance" kit features a white jersey and red shorts, with red socks and red trim along the shoulder and sleeves. The shirt's design is punctuated by a bold red "strikethrough" across the chest that embodies New England's famous spirit of positive defiance. Revolution is the ultimate act of defiance, and the club's new kit honors that resilient spirit that sparked the American Revolution, laid the foundation for our country, and has resonated throughout the New England region for centuries.

You can purchase the "Defiance" kit HERE.
