RECENT FORM VS. D.C. UNITED

The Revs have been nothing short of dominant in their recent series history with D.C. United, winning nine of the last 10 meetings (9-1-0) dating back to 2020. That stretch includes victories on four of their last five visits to Audi Field, including a dramatic 2-1 win last March when Noel Buck scored an 88th-minute game winner. New England swept the season series last year with a 4-0 triumph at Gillette Stadium in July, getting a pair of goals from former D.C. midfielder Ian Harkes.

Tomás Chancalay scored the game's only goal in the 54th minute and newcomer Henrich Ravas made two saves to keep a clean sheet in his Revolution debut, as the Revs began their 2024 campaign and the Caleb Porter era with a 1-0 win over three-time defending Panamanian champions CA Independiente on Wednesday night. That result gives New England a slim advantage heading into the second leg of their Round One series in Concacaf Champions Cup, which they'll host next Thursday night at Gillette Stadium. First, however, they'll remain on the road for Saturday night's visit to the nation's capital and the MLS regular season opener in D.C.

This weekend's hosts are also under new leadership, announcing Troy Lesesne as their head coach in early January. The 40-year-old spent the second half of last season as the interim head coach of the New York Red Bulls, taking the reins in May and guiding them from last place in the East to a place in the playoffs with a record of 10-9-4. D.C. will be hoping Lesesne has similar success in The District, as United aims to return to the postseason for the first time since 2019, having missed out each of the last four years. Lesesne, however, will not be on the sidelines for Saturday night's match as he serves a one-game suspension for a red card issued in his final game with the Red Bulls.

After beginning the season with back-to-back road games against CA Independiente and D.C. United, the Revs will return home next week for their first games of the year at Gillette Stadium. They'll host CAI in the second leg of their Concacaf Champions Cup Round One showdown on Thursday night (8:15 p.m. ET), before welcoming Toronto FC to Foxborough in a regular season contest on Sunday afternoon (2 p.m. ET).

SHOW YOUR COLORS

Saturday night the Revs will wear their "Defiance" kit, which will serve as the team's community uniform once again for the 2024 MLS season.

The "Defiance" kit features a white jersey and red shorts, with red socks and red trim along the shoulder and sleeves. The shirt's design is punctuated by a bold red "strikethrough" across the chest that embodies New England's famous spirit of positive defiance. Revolution is the ultimate act of defiance, and the club's new kit honors that resilient spirit that sparked the American Revolution, laid the foundation for our country, and has resonated throughout the New England region for centuries.

You can purchase the "Defiance" kit HERE.
