RECENT FORM VS. NEW YORK RED BULLS

This will be the third meeting between these sides since early July but the first in Foxborough, as they played a pair of matches at Red Bull Arena last month. A league showdown on July 8 saw the Revs drop a controversial 2-1 decision, Andrew Farrell's potential stoppage-time equalizer incorrectly ruled out for offside, while just two weeks later the sides battled to a 0-0 draw in the group stage of Leagues Cup, with the Red Bulls taking the extra point in a penalty shootout. Having dropped both matchups in this series last year, the Revs will be looking to get back on track against their fellow MLS originals.

New England (12-5-7, 43 pts.), following a 19-day break from competition and a 42-day hiatus from league play, returned to action this past weekend in Montréal, where they suffered a 1-0 loss courtesy of a late George Campbell strike. That result saw the Revs slip to third in the crowded Eastern Conference, where just two points separate second from sixth with September approaching. A potentially massive week now lies ahead with a pair of games at Gillette Stadium, where the Revs remain one of just two teams with an unbeaten record on home turf (9-0-3).

New York (7-10-8, 29 pts.), meanwhile, have played two MLS games since their Leagues Cup campaign ended in the Round of 16, claiming a 1-0 win over D.C. United before suffering a 2-0 loss to Inter Miami CF this past weekend, both at home. The Red Bulls find themselves three points below the playoff line in the East with just nine games remaining, and they'll play six of those nine games on the road, where they're just 1-6-4 on the year.

The Revs will wrap up their hectic week on Saturday night when they'll welcome Austin FC to Gillette Stadium for the first-ever meeting between the sides, before heading on the road for three straight through the heart of September.
