New England Revolution Academy 2024 Generation adidas Cup Preview

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (March 29, 2024) – The Revolution Academy Under-17 and Under-15 teams are heading to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. to compete in the 2024 Generation adidas Cup. New England is one of 49 clubs participating in the annual tournament with competitors from a record-breaking 15 countries spanning four continents. New England will kick off group stage action on Saturday, March 30, looking to advance to the tournament’s single-elimination championship bracket.

The U-17s will compete in Group G alongside Houston Dynamo FC, Colorado Rapids, and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors from South Korea. New England’s U-17s are coming off a 1-0 win over Nashville SC last weekend where Ivan Villalobos Lopez (2009 – Lumberton, N.C.) tallied the game-winner in the 81st minute. Owen Beninga (2007 – Jackson, W.Y.) earned the start in net to mark his seventh clean sheet of the season. The U-17s own an 11-2-4 record across the 2023-24 season and are 2-1-3 against MLS academies this year.

The U-15s are set to take on Arsenal FC, Minnesota United, and Orlando City in Group G play at Generation adidas Cup. New England fell to Nashville, 1-0, last Saturday before defeating FC Westchester on Sunday, 4-2. Judah Siqueira (2009 – South Easton, Mass.) recorded a brace to extend his team lead in goals scored to 14 on the season. Levi Katsell (2009 – San Diego, Calif.) and Aarin Prajpati (2009 – Boston, Mass.) also tallied in the match to secure the U-15s’ 12th win of the season.

New England’s U-19s, U-14s, and U-13s were all action last weekend, facing off against FC Westchester. The U-19s recorded a 3-0 shutout victory with Gabriel Chavez (2005 – Wethersfield, Conn.) netting a hat trick in the match. Ryan Carney (2006 – Dunstable, Mass.) started in net with Kevin Christensen (2006 – Framingham, Mass.) subbing in to combine for their team’s third clean sheet of the season.

The U-14s earned a 6-1 win over FC Westchester on Sunday. Lucas Pereira (2010 – East Merrimack, N.H.) tallied twice while David Sellars (2010 – Holbrook, Mass.), Rikelme De Almeida (2011 – Easton, Mass.), Kenny Mills (2009 – Brockton, Mass.), and Alejandro Garza (2010 – Hartford, Conn.) also all scored in the match to mark New England’s 16th win of the season.

The U-13s recorded their 22nd consecutive victory on Sunday with a 4-1 win over FC Westchester. After going down a man in the 13th minute, New England’s Boston Kahoalii (2012 – Whitman, Mass.) netted a brace while Navayush Gurung (2011 – Medford, Mass.) and Landon Ho Sang (2011 – Ludlow, Mass.) both also found the back of the net. To date, New England’s U-13s have tallied 109 goals so far this season.

While the U-15s and U-17s compete in GA Cup for the next 10 days, New England’s U-19s, U-14s, and U-13s continue the MLS NEXT regular season with a visit to Bayside FC on Saturday.
