New England Revolution Academy Highlights: March 22, 2023

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy’s MLS NEXT spring season is in full swing as New England went 3-1-1 on the weekend after all four teams all took on Oakwood Soccer Club with the U-14s also playing a match against New England FC.

The U-17s dominated in their game, securing a 5-0 victory over Oakwood. Eric Martinez (2206 – Perris, Calif.) notched a brace while Enzo Goncalves (2006 – Hyannis, Mass.), Raphael Alves (2007 – Framingham, Mass.), and Giuseppe Ciampa (2006 – Westwood, Mass.) each tallied as Owen Beninga (2007 – Jackson, W.Y.) and Marshall Nason Martin (2007 – Norwood, Mass.) combined for the clean sheet.

The U-14s took on New England FC on Friday where Kaleb Oliveira (2009 – Somerville, Mass.) scored in his team’s 1-1 draw. Luke Nuspl (2009 – Wayland, Mass.) and Brian Brooks (2009 – Waltham, Mass.) both notched goals in their 2-0 shutout victory over Oakwood on Saturday with Reinner Fidelis (2009 – Peabody, Mass.) earning the clean sheet.

Jason Zacarias (2004 – Billerica, Mass.) scored twice with Gianluca Armellino (2005 – Plainville, Mass.) adding on to the scoring in the U-19s 3-1 win against Oakwood. The U-15s fell 2-1 in their match vs. Oakwood as Cliff-Grove Rwabira (2008 – Portland, M.E.) scored his fourth goal of the season.

All four teams are back in action this weekend, taking on Beachside Soccer Club CT. The U-15s and U-17s will also compete against Nashville SC while the U-14s and U-19s take on Seacoast United.   • U-15 forward Grant Emerhi (2008 – Mansfield, Mass.) earned his first call-up to the U-16 Lithuanian National Team ahead of the UEFA Development Tournament in Kaunas, Lithuania.
  • The U-17s secured a clean sheet in their 5-0 victory over Oakwood SC that saw goals from forwards Enzo Goncalves (2006 – Hyannis, Mass.), Raphael Alves (2007 – Framingham, Mass.), and Eric Martinez (2006 – Perris, Calif.).
  • Forward Kaleb Oliveira (2009 – Somerville, Mass.) scored his second goal of the season in the U-14s 1-1 draw with NEFC while defender Luke Nuspl (2009 – Wayland, Mass.) and midfielder Brian Brooks (2009 – Waltham, Mass.) both tallied in their team’s 2-0 win over Oakwood as goalkeeper Reinner Fidelis (2009 – Peabody, Mass.) secured the U-14s second clean sheet of the spring season in the match.
  • Forward Jason Zacarias (2004 – Billerica, Mass.) notched his fifth and sixth goals of the season In the U-19s 3-1 victory over Oakwood.
