FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (March 8, 2024) – The Revolution Academy Under-19, Under-14, and Under-13 teams kicked off the 2024 MLS NEXT spring season over the weekend, recording three wins after hosting Met Oval in Foxborough.
The U-19s earned their first victory of the spring, tallying five goals on Saturday. Raphael Alves (2007 – Framingham, Mass.) netted four goals in the match with Alex St. John (2005 – Needham, Mass.) tallying in the 49th minute. Gabriel Chavez (2005 – Wethersfield, Conn.) earned two assists on Alves’ first two goals while Gershom Matimano (2007 – Hampton, N.H.) and Ayden Kokoszka (2006 – Franklin, Mass.) each collected an assist on his second two.
The U-13s picked up where they left off in the fall, extending their win streak to 17 with a 3-0 shutout victory on Saturday. Arthur Bernardino (2011 – Shirley, Mass.) opened the scoring with his 17th goal of the season while Davi Pereira (2011 – Revere, Mass.) and Navayush Gurung (2011 – Medford, Mass.) tallied their 13th and sixth goals of the year, respectively. On the defensive end, goalkeeper Charles Wallace (2010 – Burlington, V.T.) earned his ninth clean sheet in the match.
The U-14s kicked off their spring season with a 4-2 win over Met Oval. Brandon Velez (2010 – Concord, Mass.) recorded a brace while Lucas Pereira (2010 – East Merrimack, N.H.) tallied his team-leading 14th goal of the season in the match. Davi Pereira scored his first goal with the U-14s while owning 13 goals and 17 assists with the U-13s so far this season.
