FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (December 9, 2023) – The New England Revolution qualified for the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup on Saturday and will be one of 10 MLS entrants in the newly expanded continental tournament, featuring 27 of the top clubs from throughout North America, Central America, and the Caribbean in a five-round knockout tournament. The Revolution qualified based on the team’s sixth-overall finish in the 2023 MLS Supporters’ Shield standings. The position became guaranteed tonight after Columbus Crew SC qualified as the 2023 MLS Cup champion.
The 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup, previously known as the “Concacaf Champions League”, begins with Round One in early February 2024. Each round through the semifinals features two legs in a home-and-away series, with the winner determined by aggregate score. The single-leg final match is scheduled for Sunday, June 2. The Revolution will learn their Round One opponent during a televised draw on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 7:00 p.m. ET. Read more about the draw process here.

The Revolution are one of 27 clubs set to compete in the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup, and one of 10 Major League Soccer sides along with Columbus, FC Cincinnati, Inter Miami CF, Houston Dynamo FC, Nashville SC, Philadelphia Union, Orlando City SC, St. Louis CITY SC, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC. New England is one of 22 clubs slated to enter the tournament in Round One, with five teams advancing directly to the Round of 16.
New England is vying to become the fourth MLS side to win Concacaf’s continental tournament, joining D.C. United (1998), LA Galaxy (2000), and Seattle Sounders FC (2022). The 2024 season marks New England’s second entrance into the competition in the last three years, having last featured in the 2022 edition of the Concacaf Champions League. The Revolution’s history in international play features a 2008 North American SuperLiga title.
The MLS offseason calendar picks up this week with the opening of the MLS trade window on Monday, Dec. 11, followed by the opening of MLS Free Agency on Wednesday, Dec. 13 (1:00 p.m. ET). The MLS Re-Entry Process then begins with Stage 1 on Thursday, Dec. 14, with Stage 2 on Thursday, Dec. 21.
MLS SuperDraft 2024 presented by adidas is scheduled for Tuesday, December 19 at 3:00 p.m. ET, available to watch on MLS Season Pass (Apple TV). This year’s draft will consist of three rounds following the reverse order of the club standings at the end of each MLS season, taking postseason performance into account. New England holds the 20th selection in the first and third round.
