The game’s lone goal came on a Josh Williams header off of a Federico Higuaín free kick assist in the 42nd minute. The Revs played the game’s final 26 minutes with 10 men, after defender Michael Mancienne received a second yellow card in the 64th minute.
Goalkeeper Cody Cropper made his second consecutive start in net, while rookie DeJuan Jones made his second career MLS start in the midfield, playing 61 minutes. Fellow 2019 MLS SuperDraft selection Tajon Buchanan made his second MLS appearance, coming off the bench for Juan Agudelo in the 80th minute.
Forward Juan Fernando Caicedo, who missed New England's first two matches with a muscular injury, made his first MLS start, after previously totaling 33 minutes in three appearances off the bench. The Colombian striker played 69 minutes and tallied two shots in the loss.
New England returns to action next Saturday, April 13, when it hosts defending MLS Cup Champions Atlanta United FC at Gillette Stadium in the clubs' first of two matchups this season.
