Revolution Academy Update: October 19, 2017

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – All five New England Revolution Academy teams played fellow MLS Academy New York City FC this past weekend. The U-17s and U-15s completed the fall portion of their GA Cup schedules, as their matches were contested in both USSDA and Generation adidas Cup play.


All five teams will host matches once again on Saturday, Oct. 21 against BW Gottschee Academy. The U-13s and U-14s will play matches at Medway High School, while the U-15s, U-17s, and U-19s will play their contests at East Providence High School.


WEEK HIGHLIGHTS

  • Forward Andy Chisholm '00 (North Attleborough, Mass.) registered his second goal of the season for the U-19s in a 1-1 draw with FC New York City FC.
  • Forward Luis Blanco '01 (Pawtucket, R.I.) recorded a goal and an assist for the U-17s in their 3-2 loss to New York City FC.
  • Forward Sam White '03 (Worcester, Mass.) contributed to both goals scored by the U-15s, posting a goal and an assist in a 2-2 draw with New York City FC.
  • The Under-14s posted their seventh win through the first seven matches of the 2017-18 USSDA season. Midfielder/forward Michael Hofstetter '04 (East Greenwich, R.I.) contributed a goal and two assists, forward Sekou Kamara '04 (North Providence, RI) recorded his first goal as a Revolution Academy player, and goalkeepers Matthew Tibbetts '04 (Westborough, Mass.) and Sebastian Pliszka '04 (Newington, Conn.) combined for a shutout in a 5-0 victory over New York City FC.
  • Midfielder Oscar Martinez '05 (Revere, Mass.) posted his first goal as a Revolution Academy player in the first minute of play in the U-13s' 2-1 loss to New York City FC.
