FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution will open preseason training ahead of the 2016 MLS season at Gillette Stadium on Friday, Jan. 22. The club is scheduled to train at Gillette Stadium while once again making two separate trips to Arizona for more than three weeks of training there ahead of the start of the 2016 MLS regular season.
Following an initial week of testing and training in Foxborough, the Revolution will travel to Casa Grande, Arizona on Jan. 26 for 10 days of training as well as a game on Saturday, Feb. 6 against the Houston Dynamo. The team will return to New England on Feb. 7 for a week of training before flying back to Tucson on Feb. 14 for the start of the 2016 FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup.
This will be the fifth straight year in which the Revolution will participate in the Desert Diamond Cup, which will once again be held at the Kino North Sports Complex. The tournament, which will also feature the Colorado Rapids, Real Salt Lake and Sporting Kansas City as well as USL club Swope Park Rangers and PDL side FC Tucson, will run from Feb. 17 until Feb. 27.
