FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution (2-4-7; 13 points) fell to FC Dallas (8-4-2; 26 points), 4-2, at Gillette Stadium on Saturday night. Juan Agudelo and Lee Nguyen were New England’s goal scorers, with the latter also tallying an assist. It marked Agudelo’s fourth consecutive match with either a goal or an assist, and Nguyen’s second consecutive match with both a goal and an assist. Nguyen’s goal, the 37^th of his Revolution career, moves him into a tie with Shalrie Joseph and Pat Noonan for fourth place on the club’s all-time goal-scoring list. Tonight’s match also featured defender Je-Vaughn Watson’s 100^th career MLS start.

Revolution Drop First Home Game of 2016

With today’s loss, the Revolution are now 2-4-7 (13 pts.) on the season and move to 2-1-4 at Gillette Stadium. With the result, the club is now in eighth place in the Eastern Conference and is level with seventh place D.C. United with 13 points.

Revolution Make a Pair of Lineup Changes

Revolution defenders Chris Tierney and Samba replaced defender London Woodberry and midfielder Diego Fagundez in the club’s starting lineup.

Tierney returned to the starting lineup after missing the Revolution’s last four matches with a hamstring injury.

Samba made the first start of his MLS and Revolution career, playing 90 minutes. He logged one minute for the Revs on May 14 vs. Chicago in his first MLS appearance.

Nguyen Records Goal and Assist for Second Consecutive Game  

Midfielder Lee Nguyen scored his third goal and recorded his fourth assist of the season in tonight’s match. Nguyen’s assist came from a free kick in the 23^rd minute, when he found forward Juan Agudelo in the 18-yard box to open the scoring. Nguyen scored a goal of his own in the 26^th minute when he converted from the spot after earning a penalty.

Nguyen’s goal was his second converted penalty kick in two attempts this season. He now has 37 career goals.

This marked the first time in Nguyen’s career that he a goal and an assist in consecutive matches.

Nguyen Moves into Top Five in Goals Scored in Club History

With his 26^th minute goal, midfielder Lee Nguyen moved into a tie for fourth all-time in goals scored in Revolution history. Nguyen’s 37 career goals put him level with Shalrie Joseph and Pat Noonan.

With his 23^rd minute assist, Nguyen is now tied with Taylor Twellman for the sixth most career assists in a Revolution kit with 28.

Agudelo Records Goal or Assist for Fourth Consecutive Match

Forward Juan Agudelo’s run of good form continued in tonight’s match, converting a headed chance from Lee Nguyen inside the 18-yard box in the 26^th minute.

Agudelo has now recorded either a goal or an assist in a career-high four consecutive matches.

Agudelo’s goal ties him for the team lead with three scores this season. He now has 28 career goals and 17 goals with the Revolution.

Watson Makes 100^th Career MLS Start

Revolution defender Je-Vaughn Watson made his 100^th career MLS start in tonight’s contest. In his career, Watson has made 129 appearances with seven goals and seven assists 8,929 minutes of action over six total seasons with the Houston Dynamo, FC Dallas, and the New England Revolution.
