FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution open the home portion of their 2021 MLS season tonight against D.C. United, welcoming fans back to Gillette Stadium for an 8:00 p.m. ET kickoff. The match airs locally on WSBK-TV38 and myRITV, as well as on the radio at 98.5 The Sports Hub and WBIX 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA. The match is also available on ESPN+ for out-of-market viewers.

Here is a breakdown of the Revolution’s starting lineup for the home opener:

Lineup Notes:

• New England’s Starting XI features three changes from last Saturday’s season opener at Chicago Fire FC, with newcomersArnór Traustason,Christian Mafla, andWilfrid Kaptoum stepping in forTajon Buchanan,DeJuan Jones and Tommy McNamara.
• Traustason and Mafla will make their MLS and Revolution debuts tonight. Traustason, a 27-year-old Icelandic international, arrives in New England from Swedish side Malmö FF and joined the Revs in full-team training at the beginning of this week. Mafla, who joined the club from Atletico Nacional in his native Colombia, will make the start at left back.
• Kaptoum made his MLS and Revolution debuts with a seven-minute shift off the bench in last Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Chicago Fire FC. The 24-year-old native of Cameroon makes his first appearance in the Revolution’s Starting XI in addition to his Gillette Stadium debut.
• The Revs’ attacking trio of Gustavo Bou,Adam Buksa and Carles Gil will all appear in the same Starting XI in front of Gillette Stadium fans for the first time. The triumvirate started in the same home game only once last season, the Play-In Round of the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs on Nov. 20, 2020 against Montreal.
• Buksa, who scored New England’s first goal of the 2021 season last Saturday, will look to add to his three goals in four career games against D.C. United. The Polish forward is making his 25^th regular season appearance in MLS.
• The Revolution are an unbeaten 10-0-7 across all competitions when Gustavo Bou scores a goal. The Argentinian forward netted the game-tying goal in last Saturday’s season opener and owns two goals and one assist over four games played against D.C.
• Goalkeeper Matt Turner owns a 4-1-2 career record against D.C. United. Turner submitted five saves in the season opener at Chicago.
• Defenders Andrew Farrell and Henry Kessler have started together in central defense for all but three regular season games since 2020.
• Farrell , in his ninth MLS season, all with New England, is on the verge of breaking Shalrie Joseph’s club records for appearances (261), games started (254) and minutes played (22,867). The 29-year-old defender enters tonight’s match with 240 appearances, 237 starts and 21,132 minutes played.
• Matt Polster makes his 10^th start in a Revolution uniform, and his 99^th appearance in MLS. The central midfielder is in his seventh MLS season and his first full campaign in New England, after arriving from Scottish Premier League side Rangers FC last July.
• On the sidelines, Sporting Director and Head Coach Bruce Arena will look to improve on his 3-0-2 mark against his former club since joining the Revolution. Arena led D.C. United to the league’s two MLS Cup championships in 1996 and 1997.

Bench Notes:

• Edward Kizza made his MLS debut and recorded one shot in a seven-minute performance off the bench at Chicago. Kizza, who was selected by the Revolution with the 24^th overall pick in January’s MLS SuperDraft, will make his Gillette Stadium debut if he appears in tonight’s contest.
• Teal Bunbury leads the team with six career goals scored over 23 games played against D.C. United. The 12^th-year forward is eight appearances shy of 300 games played in MLS.
• Tommy McNamara owns two goals and four assists over nine games played against the visiting team. McNamara, who started the season opener in central midfield, appeared in two matches and collected one assist against D.C. United with the Revolution in 2020.
• Tajon Buchanan recorded the assist on Gustavo Bou’s game-tying goal last weekend. The third-year forward has logged assists in two of his last three regular season contests.
• A.J. DeLaGarza and Emmanuel Boateng appear on the matchday roster for the second consecutive contest. The MLS veterans are available to make their Revolution debuts in tonight’s match.
