Revolution loan goalkeeper Trevor Spangenberg to Richmond Kickers

DL - Trevor Spangenberg

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution announced today that the club has once again agreed to loan goalkeeper Trevor Spangenberg to the Richmond Kickers (USL). Spangenberg will join the Kickers later today ahead of their matchup with the Charleston Battery on Saturday night at City Stadium in Richmond, Virginia. He is scheduled to return to the Revolution following that game. This is the second consecutive weekend that the Revs have loaned Spangenberg to the Kickers.

Last weekend, Spangenberg preserved the Kickers’ unbeaten record, making nine saves and earning a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory over FC Montreal at Stade Saputo Turf Field. The Kickers head in to Saturday night’s game with a 4-0-2 record for 14 points on the season, giving them a share of first place in the USL’s Eastern Conference with the Revs’ USL affiliate Rochester Rhinos, who hold an identical record.

Spangenberg signed with the Revs in early March after being on trial with the club throughout the preseason. The Mesa, Arizona native is in his second season in MLS after spending the 2014 campaign in Southern California with Chivas USA, where he made one substitute appearance in goal. He is yet made a regular-season appearance for the Revolution.
