FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Three New England Revolution Academy players have earned U.S. Soccer Development Academy End-of-Year awards, as announced on Monday night by U.S. Soccer. Goalkeeper Trey Miller and defender Daniel Jones were each named to the East Conference Under-16 Starting XI while Zachary Herivaux, who signed a Homegrown Player contract with the Revolution in May, was named to the East Conference Under-18 Starting XI.

“We are very proud that Trey, Daniel and Zach have been honored with these awards,” Revolution director of youth development Bryan Scales said. “Trey and Daniel have worked extremely hard this past season to reach the Playoff Quarterfinals with the Under-16s and deserve this recognition, while we couldn’t be happier for Zach to graduate from the Academy and sign a Homegrown contract.”

In addition to the individual player awards, the Revolution were honored with two additional awards as Scales was named the East Conference Coach of the Year for his work with the Revs U-16s and the Revolution Under-14s received the prestigious Style of Play award in the East Conference. Under head coach Gary Hall and assistants Kyle Teixeira and Jasir Charris, the Revolution U-14s compiled a 22-3-2 record during the season, averaging nearly three goals per game and keeping a clean sheet in nearly half of their 27 contests while going 19 straight games without a loss at one point.

“Gary, Kyle and Jasir have done a terrific job with the Under-14 group. It is such an important age group for us and it was a pleasure to watch their progress all season,” Scales said.

The U-16s advanced to the quarterfinal stage of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Playoffs for the first time in program history earlier this month, with Scales almost guiding his side to the Academy semifinals before eventually suffering a 5-3 defeat to Philadelphia in extra time. Heading into his seventh season with the Revolution Academy, Scales has overseen its growth into one of the region’s top programs while helping to provide the first team with Homegrown Players Diego Fagundez (signed in 2011), Scott Caldwell (signed in 2012) and Herivaux (signed in 2015).

“The primary goal of the Academy will always be to develop players for our first team and Bryan has done a fantastic job of balancing that and leading our Academy program,” Revolution general manager Michael Burns said. “We are pleased for Bryan to be named the U-16 Coach of the Year and feel it is a well-deserved honor for his entire coaching staff given the work that they did with their team this season.”

East Conference Starting XI picks Miller and Jones were each part of Scales’ U-16 team in the 2014-15 season, playing key roles while also earning U.S. Under-16 National Team recognition. Goalkeeper Miller posted 12 shutouts in league play and the Monson, Mass. native registered a 0.71 goals against average after conceding just 16 goals in 23 games. Jones, a defender from West Hartford, Conn., made 20 appearances for the U-16s, scoring four goals and adding two assists while playing predominantly as a left back.

As a result of his stellar performances with the Revs, Jones has been a constant presence in the U.S. U-16 National Team since November 2014, while Miller received his first call up in June for a week-long camp in Sunrise, Fla.

Herivaux, who was signed as a Homegrown Player on May 2 after spending four years with the Revolution Academy, was named to the Under-18 East Conference Starting XI after making 16 starts as the Revs U-18 captain, tallying four goals and two assists on the season. The Brookline, Mass. native debuted as part of the Academy in the 2011-12 season and went on to make 92 appearances, scoring 12 goals and adding 14 assists in that time. The 19-year-old midfielder made his New England first team debut as a late substitute in the Revolution’s 1-0 defeat to the Charlotte Independence in the Fourth Round of the 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on June 17.
