New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner added another clean sheet to his U.S. Men’s National Team resume with a 3-0 win over Honduras on Wednesday night, bringing his overall record to 12-2-2. While Turner didn’t have a lot of saving to do in this World Cup Qualifier, he was active in an alternative way as he was fighting the frigid two-degree weather in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Turner’s efforts to not freeze caught massive attention, and even Turner himself had some fun with social media with his stint in the frigid temperatures.
Here are some of the best reactions to Turner in net in what felt like negative twelve degrees.
Turner even had to get creative with how to stay warm while the U.S. were dominating on the other side of the field.
Luckily, Turner has had a chance to thaw out, and will continue to warm up as he heads to sunny Los Angeles, California to reunite with his Revolution teammates in their preseason preparations.
Turner and Sebastian Lletget joined the team on the west coast on Thursday afternoon, and the club will train in LA through next Wednesday (Feb. 9).
