With the 2024 Major League Soccer regular season wrapped, it’s time to look back on the breathtaking highlights from the year – the stunning goals, the heart-stopping saves, and all the best performances from February to October.

Two of those unforgettable highlights came from New England Revolution players, with Carles Gil earning a nod for the AT&T MLS Goal of the Year, and Aljaž Ivačič up for MLS Save of the Year.

Gil’s scintillating strike came right at the beginning of the season, against D.C. United on Matchday 2. It’s just about the Spaniard’s trademark goal – after weaving through a crowd of defenders, Gil unleashed an unstoppable curling effort from the edge of the box, nestling effortlessly into the top-left corner past a helpless Alex Bono.

Ivačič’s effort came in his very first appearance for the Revs, away to Chicago Fire FC on Matchday 12. Facing a long-range free kick from Xherdan Shaquiri, Ivačič soared to deny the Swiss midfielder, reaching full extension to tip the stinging effort over the bar. The Slovenian shot-stopper’s acrobatics were crucial in helping secure the Revolution’s first road win of the season.

Fan voting for both awards is open now, so Revs fans should be sure to make their voices heard for Gil and Ivačič before voting closes on October 28!
