FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution midfielder and Homegrown Player Zachary Herivaux has been called up by the Haitian National Team for its friendly against the Argentine Olympic Team in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on July 24. In addition, he has been added to the 2016 Chipotle MLS Homegrown Team’s roster, which will face the Mexican Under-20 national team on Wednesday, July 27 at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif. Herivaux will join Haiti on July 21 and return to the Revolution following the Chipotle MLS Homegrown Game.
This marks Herivaux’s first call up to the Haitian National Team’s senior squad. He previously represented Les Grenadiers at the youth level at the 2015 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, where he appeared in all five of the team’s matches and made three starts.
The 20-year-old native of Brookline, Mass., has appeared in three matches across all competitions for the Revolution this season. He made his first professional start and scored his first professional goal in New England’s Fourth Round U.S. Open Cup win against the Carolina RailHawks on June 15. His 103rd-minute goal from distance was the latest game winner in club history (WATCH HERE). Herivaux also made his MLS debut on March 20 against the Philadelphia Union, entering the match as a substitute and playing three minutes.
A graduate of the Revolution Academy, Herivaux signed his first professional contract on May 2, 2015. He captained the club’s U-18 side for two seasons and was named the Revs’ inaugural UnitedHealthcare Youth Player of the Year in 2014. In total, he spent four seasons with the Revolution Academy, making 92 appearances with the U-16 and U-18 teams, including 82 starts. Herivaux was born in Osaka, Japan, but grew up in Brookline. His father, Pedro Herivaux, was born in Haiti and played professionally in Japan.
