RECENT FORM VS. CHICAGO FIRE FC

The Revs will open the 2021 campaign with a classic MLS rivalry at Chicago Fire FC on Saturday night. This will be the 65th regular-season match and 85th overall meeting since the Fire's inaugural season in 1998, which includes 15 heated playoff matches between 2000 and 2009.

The Revs went unbeaten in a pair of meetings with Chicago last season - first battling to a 1-1 draw at Gillette Stadium in March prior to the pause in league play, and then extinguishing the Fire, 2-1, in September at Soldier Field courtesy of a Teal Bunbury brace.

This is the 13th straight year that New England will open their season on the road and the 25th time in 26 seasons. After the Revs' run to the Eastern Conference Final in the 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs, there are high hopes ahead of this season. Head coach Bruce Arena has emphasized the importance of getting wins early to set the squad up for success in 2021, and the team will aim to start this trend at Chicago on Saturday.

Overall Record vs. Chicago: 23-27-14
Road Record vs. Chicago: 6-17-9

Last Meeting at Gillette Stadium: Revs 1, Fire 1 (March 7, 2020)
Last Meeting at Soldier Field: Revs 2, Fire 1 (Sept 6, 2020)

The Revs will be sporting their sleek new kits, which take inspiration from the block work of American Revolution Era war forts in the New England area. This kit also pays homage to The Fort – the club’s dedicated supporters’ sections at Gillette Stadium – and features a fort-inspired blocked white shirt with a monochromatic Revolution logo, white shorts, and sky blue socks.
