BOSTON – Calling all soccer players! Grab your cleats and register your team for Kick for Dana-Farber, a new fundraiser in partnership with the New England Revolution that supports adult and pediatric cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
All New England soccer teams, including youth, middle and high school, and club teams, are invited to participate. The fundraiser officially kicked off on Aug. 1 and will conclude Dec. 14. Participants will receive a fundraising kit with official T-shirts, banners, cash collection canisters and posters.
To participate in Kick for Dana-Farber, soccer teams can bring their team and community together through fundraising activities to score the ultimate goal—conquering cancer. There is no minimum fundraising requirement, but teams are required to register.
“The goal of Kick for Dana-Farber is to educate young players about Dana-Farber, and create a close connection to our mission,” said Brenda Goodell, assistant vice president, Event Fundraising, Dana-Farber. “We are so honored to have the support of the New England Revolution for this exciting new fundraising program.”
All teams that raise $1,000 or more will be entered into a drawing for the two grand prizes—tickets to and an on-field Rally Tunnel experience at a 2016 New England Revolution match. Each additional $1,000 raised earns teams an additional entry into the drawing. The top 12 fundraising teams will be invited to a soccer clinic run by the Revolution Academy at the Field House at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., which will include soccer instruction, a question-and-answer session, and photos and autographs with the Revolution players. Each team that raises $5,000 or more will receive tickets to a Revolution home game.
